AS1 and AS2 are alive and well in the mobile world. Fortunately their days
are numbered. It will probably be at least another year until FlashCast 1.x
(AS1) and Flash Lite 3.x (AS2) are no longer being distributed on new
handsets (in the US and most of EU/EA) FlashCast just launched on Verizon's
Chocolate 3, and is hitting Europe soon. I was pissed at first when I had
to pick up some existing AS1 projects with special platform/server
integration, but after starting my own (AS1) project (just two months
ago!!!) I can deal with it.

I have to work in A1-2-3 and while it's not always fun, I try to enjoy the
challenges and like working with different devices and constraints. The pay
is good and when doing web projects I'm free to use AS3 to my hearts
content. The only thing is juggling all these projects doesn't leave much
time for Objective C. If can get good at that I will definitely have to ask
for a raise ;)

Anyway take it easy with the 'fervor'. You might make some of us feel bad,
when we're just trying to make the best out of the situation.
